My sweet tooth is influencing my cravings right now. It’s so hot out that I’d just eat ice cream for most meals given the opportunity. That may not be reasonable, but it’s reasonable to pair ice cream with these Butterscotch Brownies. Bonus hint: you don’t have to put the chopped nuts in them if you don’t want to.
Butterscotch Brownies, provided by Anna Lois (Mrs. Ned) Curtis
½ c. flour
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ c. melted butter
½ c. nuts, chopped
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift together flour and baking powder. Mix brown sugar and butter; add egg and beat well. Add vanilla and dry ingredients; add nuts. Bake 25 minutes at 325°; cool after cutting in squares (easier to cut while warm). Better double the recipe.
