Frank Guerra
Cotulla ISD has announced that Frank Guerra has been hired as the new principal for the high school.
Guerra has been an educator since 2001. He taught for Freer and McKinney ISDs for of 12 years, during which he was selected as secondary teacher of the year for McKinney ISD.
In 2013, Guerra began his administrative career at Cotulla ISD as an assistant principal, a position he held for four years before he was hired as an academic dean at Somerset ISD. He worked in Somerset for three years.
He holds a teaching certification in Art EC-12th grade and EC-12th grade in Special Education. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Education from Texas A&M University at Kingsville and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University at Austin. He is currently working on his doctoral degree in educational leadership and will defend his dissertation and graduate from Texas A&M University at Kingsville this fall. Upon graduation, he will earn certification in higher education administrative leadership and his superintendent’s certification.
Guerra and his wife Lucy have been married for 21 years and have a 17-year-old son, a five-year-old son and a three-year-old daughter.
“I’m so happy I am back in Cotulla living my dream role as a campus principal,” Guerra said this week. “Thank you, Cotulla ISD, for believing in my leadership. I will not let you down.”
