COUNTY ARRESTS
Seventeen individuals were arrested in La Salle County over the past two weeks on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, officers of the Encinal Police Department, and agents of the US Border Patrol.
In addition to any being housed on behalf of other jurisdictions and those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, July 25, and Sunday, August 7, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Victor Alfonso Garcia, 28, of Cotulla; arrested 7:15 p.m. Monday, July 25, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony burglary of a habitation, Class B misdemeanor theft of property up to $100 in value with a prior conviction; remained in jail Monday, Aug. 8.
Vicente Erales, 29, of Laredo; arrested 1:25 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, by the Sheriff’s Office; failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while intoxicated; released on bond after two hours.
Rolando Castillo Perez, 33, of Austin; arrested 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor tampering with a government record; released on bond after 20 hours.
Jesus Abrego-Quilantan, 33, of New Braunfels, Texas; arrested 5:12 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor driving while intoxicated; released on bond after nine hours.
John Anthony Contreras, 28, of Corpus Christi, Texas; arrested 4:51 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, by the Encinal PD; third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after two days, one hour.
Anthony Joseph Franklin III, 30, of Houston; arrested 3:21 a.m. Thursday, July 28, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (six counts); released on bond after one day, 14 hours.
Anthony Jerome Hankins, 50, of Corpus Christi, Texas; arrested 10:55 a.m. Thursday, July 28, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; remained in jail Monday, Aug. 8.
William Richardson IV, 27, of San Antonio; arrested 12:31 p.m. Thursday, July 28, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in Bexar County for probation violation on a charge of family violence assault; transferred after five days, 18 hours.
Rogelio Gonzales III, 40, of Cotulla; arrested 3:07 p.m. Thursday, July 28, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace for third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle; released on bond after one day, two hours.
Nicholas Thomas Ramirez, 19, of Cotulla; arrested 11:48 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor racing on highway, warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for displaying fictitious registration and violating a promise to appear in court; released on bond after ten hours.
Brandon Lee Munoz, 28, of Cotulla; arrested 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor racing on highway; released on bond after seven hours.
Taylor McClain Wesch, 32, of San Antonio; arrested 10:21 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3; released on bond after two hours.
Jessie Garcia, 28, of San Antonio; arrested 7:03 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court; remained in jail Monday, Aug. 8.
Jeffrey James Simmons, 32, of Austin; arrested 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle County for third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts); transferred after two days, 22 hours.
Trey Deshawn Ross, 29, of Mineola, Texas; arrested 9:09 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor driving while license is not valid with a prior conviction; released on bond after 23 hours.
Carlos Ariel Bailon-Duarte, 24, of Channelview, Texas; arrested 1:53 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, by the US Border Patrol; warrant issued in Harris County for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while intoxicated; remained in jail Monday, Aug. 8.
Robert De Jesus Lopez, 22, of Laredo; arrested 8:33 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (four counts); remained in jail Monday, Aug. 8.
