“Each street throughout town will be handled accordingly,”
Due to a recent influx in calls for service pertaining to stray animals and aggressive dogs, the Encinal Police Department began enforcing a city ordinance on Tuesday, August 23.
According to a press release, the department began picking up stray animals that were roaming the city streets, unleashed, Tuesday afternoon.
The department noted that all animals should be properly tied-up or secured behind a fence in accordance with the Safe Outdoors Dogs Act that became effective on January 18, 2022.
Encinal police say they plan to carry out the operation throughout the months of August and September.
“Each street throughout town will be handled accordingly,” the press release read. “Please have patience as our city crews attempt to alleviate this concerning issue that many residents have expressed.”
