2022 LADY MAVS INVITATIONAL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT
Eight teams in contention for Lady Maverick Classic tourney title.
Pearsall dropped a five set match to Crystal City before competing at the tough Boerne-Boerne Champion Tournament over the weekend in volleyball action.
The Lady Mavs will play host to their annual Lady Mavs Invitational Volleyball Tournament this week.
Teams in attendance include Cotulla, Dilley, San Antonio Sam Houston, SA Fox Tech, San Antonio South San and Junction.
In action last week, Pearsall fell to Crystal City in their opening set 20-25 before rallying to take the next two 25-23, 25-21. The Lady Javelinas would claim momentum down the stretch, however, tying the contest up and winning via 25-15, 15-10 decisions in the last two sets.
The squad then traveled to Boerne for tournament play against the likes of SA Christian, Corpus Christi Flour Bluff, Medina Valley, Blanco, Champion and SA Stevens.
“We got some good reps against these teams,” PHS Head Coach Erica Tellez said.
Pearsall tournament action begins on Thursday morning, August 25 as the Pearsall junior varsity takes on Cotulla at 9 a.m. while Dilley meets Fox Tech, also at 9 a.m. Pearsall will face Junction at 10 a.m. Dilley will take on Junction at 11 a.m. as Cotulla matches up with South San at the same time in the practice gym. Cotulla will face Sam Houston in the day’s final contest at 2 p.m. while Pearsall and Dilley square off at the same time.
Action will then resume at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 27.
