Peralta found in ‘blood-stained clothing’
A large gathering at a downtown bar in Pearsall turned violent early Sunday, August 14 when three people were stabbed during what police are describing as a large bar brawl.
Pearsall police say officers and Frio County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a bar and night club shortly before 1 a.m. after repeated calls to emergency dispatch were made regarding an assault.
According to a report on the case, law enforcement arrived on scene to find three people who had suffered stab wounds.
During witness interviews and footage from social media accounts, officers were able to identify the suspect as 34-year-old Patricio Peralta.
Peralta, in his attempt to flee the scene, had left the knife that was used in the assault. Investigating officers were able to locate Peralta at a home on Eddie Street where they found the man in blood-stained clothing.
Peralta was arrested and transported to the Frio County Jail without further incident.
One victim was transported by life flight to a San Antonio hospital due to the severity of the wounds sustained during the stabbing; the other two victims were transported to Frio Regional Hospital by ambulance.
Pearsall police confirmed this week that all three victims have been released from the hospital.
Peralta faces three second-degree felony charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and a Class B misdemeanor charge for terroristic threat causing fear of imminent serious bodily injury.
“We are still actively working this incident and are asking for the public’s help,” Captain Michael Guerrero said this week. “If anyone has additional video footage of the fight we are asking you to come forward. All tips do remain anonymous.”
The department extends their gratitude to the sheriff’s department for their assistance.
