COTULLA’s Carisia Rodriguez finishes the final 200m of the varsity girls’ race the Wolf Pack Invitational at Dilley on Saturday. Rodriguez was 13th overall at the event.
Cotulla’s Carisia Rodriguez was 13th overall to pace her team at the annual Wolfpack Invitational Cross Country Meet on Saturday, September 3 at Gosch Field in Dilley.
There were 17 teams in attendance at the event which saw Rodriguez finish 13th overall in the varsity girls’ division. The Cowgirls finished eighth overall as a team.
“Conditions were extremely humid and I was very proud of the effort our Cowboys and Cowgirls put forth in this meet,” CHS Head Coach Jose Olvera said. “I’d like to give a big thanks for the overwhelming support of our parents we had at this meet.”
Alessandra Garcia finished 32nd overall, Isabella Gonzales was 54th, Jaylan Del Toro, 64th, Maggie alba, 65th and Mazie Cutzer, who joined the team this week, was 74th.
Paul Gonzales led the Cowboys as he finished 34th.
Cotulla’s eighth grade Cowboys were second overall at the event.
Frankie Torres led from the start and finished first in the division.
Eighth grade results are as follows: Michael Garcia 12th, Jesus Alcore 13th, Rene Battera was 15th while John Michael Sanchez and Ezra Garza also competed for the team.
Julianna Garcia was the only 8th grader for the girls while seventh grader Nelson Sanchez was 32nd. Jaqueline Alba finished 9th for the seventh grade Cowgirls while Carina Rodriguez was 13th and Leila Olvera was 16th.
Cotulla will be in action this week as they compete at Bandera Saturday morning, September 10.
