olves finished fourth overall in action at the fourth annual Comfort Billy Nabours Oktoberfest cross country meet on Saturday, September 24.
Freshman Xavier Hernandez once again led the team as he finished third overall at the event with a time of 17:19.
Four other teammates finished in the top 25 at the event.
Injuries have ravaged the varsity girls’ team. Maddie Proctor and Rena Ochoa were the only varsity competitors for Dilley at the event. Proctor clocked in with a time of 18:59 while Ochoa finished at 19:03.
Varsity boys’ results are as follows: Anthony Guerra, 12th, 18:16, Abraham Rodriguez, 21st, 18:41, Brazos Viesca, 22nd, 18:43, Julian Cruz, 25th, 19:07, Jacob Garcia, 33rd, 20:25.
Angel Martinez took first overall in the junior varsity boys’ field, clocking in with a time of 18:28.
In the JV girls’ division, Klarissa Vasquez was second overall at 17:18 while Bella Proctor was 11th at 26:17.
Dilley’s eighth grade Pups were second overall in their field. Results are as follows: Rodrigo Cardenas, second, 13:31, Josiah Benavides, fourth, 13:35, Abel Treviño, ninth, 14:23, Zayden Cano, 16th, 15:23 and Eddie Torres, 25th, 18:41.
Elijah Sambrano paced the seventh grade Pups as he took first overall at 13:31. Eliberto Lopez was sixth at 16:02, Tristan Goins finished 11th at 18:21 and Elliot Pichardo was 12th at 18:27.
Edelyn Rodriguez was tenth for the eighth grade Lady Pups with a time of 16:45 while Lily Ayala was 12th at 17:35. Jaelyn Rodriguez was the lone Lady Pups seventh grade runner. She was 11th overall at 18:12.
Dilley will be in action at Crystal City this Saturday, October in the final meet of the year before the district competition on Wednesday, October 12.
