PEARSALL MAVERICKS CROSS COUNTRY
Pearsall’s cross country team finished seventh overall at the Poth Invitational cross countrymeet in the team’s final action before the District 29-4A meet on October 12.
Romeo Vega paced the team as he was 17th overall with a time of 17:30.12. Dylan Ortiz was 25th at 18:06.16, Jonathan Viesca finished 33rd at 18:28.15, Alejandro Briseno was 55th with a time of 19:20.88 and Jevan Torres finished 77th at 21:17.44.
Izaely Ovalle was 82nd overall for the Lady Mavs varsity squad. She clocked in at 15:07.19.
Jose Ortegon was 24th overall for the junior varsity boys with a time of 20:59.29. Brynden De Leon was 41st at 23:13.09 and Aiden Lucio placed 43rd at 23:42.84.
Pearsall’s seventh grade Dogies were fourth overall at the event.
Junior high results are as follows: seventh grade girls, Zoey Ortegon, 8th, 14:34.66, Bailey Morales, 24th, 16:07.63, Aubrey Ovalle, 28th, 16:27.42, Cassidy Martinez, 30th, 16:40.34. Jazette Rodriguez, Lilly Hughes and Ysenia Lopez also competed for Pearsall.
Seventh grade boys, Alexander Frazier, 11th, 14:14.91, Michael Luna, 15th, 14:49.92, Ethan Morales, 16th, 14:51.40, Jarren Cabasos, 17th, 14:57.65, Devin Aranda, 21st, 15:03.92, Bronxton Martinez, 22nd, 15:06.82, Cordero Perez, 39th, 17:09.10, George Adame, 45th, 19:57.57, Josiah Caballero, 46th, 19:57.75; eighth grade girls, Angelyna Montes, 14:53, Cora Rogers, 19:12; eighth grade boys, JJ Torres, 9th, 13:01.76, Joseph Leija, 20th, 14:06.10, Hector Rodriguez, 31st, 15:54.38.
The District 29-4A meet is scheduled for Wednesday, October 12 in Floresville.
