The Cotulla Garden Club held its first meeting of the year on September 8 and recognized and honored three members with Lifetime Membership.
Those honored included Mary Alice Rymal, member since 1966, Flossie Highsmith, member since the early 70’s and Darlene Meyer, member since 1978.
The club also named its Yards of the Month for September in Encinal and Cotulla. Winners included Mr. & Mrs. Frank Weikel of Encinal and Mr. and Mrs. Tirso and Irene Ramirez of Cotulla. Both were lauded for having beautiful yards despite an exceptionally hot summer and severe drought conditions.
The Garden Club is currently hosting its 50/50 Raffle on Facebook. For information or to participate, follow the Garden Club Facebook page or contact any club member to participate in the raffle.
The next club meeting will be held Thursday, October 13. The normal meeting time has changed from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accommodate those who wish to join but are unable to attend due to work schedules.
