A Pearsall woman is wanted on felony narcotics charges after officers discovered a drug cache while investigating a shooting on Thursday morning, September 29, which prompted the school district to go into lockdown status for most of the day.
Pearsall police say they arrived at a home near the intersection of Pine and Nueces streets after calls were received regarding shots fired.
According to the police report, witnesses to the incident were uncooperative when investigating officers arrived at the residence.
Police entered the home and found narcotics in plain view, the report indicated, and officers have confirmed that a search of the apartment revealed a large amount of methamphetamine and marijuana.
“With the amount of narcotics we discovered in the home, it was apparent the drugs were not for personal use,” Police Captain Michael Guerrero said.
The residence owner, 30-year-old Destiny Montez, is wanted on a second-degree felony charge for the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
Police say child protective services were contacted after the narcotics, bullets, spent bullet casings and body armor were discovered in the apartment where children live.
“We are asking for the public’s help in an attempt to identify the individuals involved in this crime,” the police captain said.
