The La Salle County AgriLife Extension Service will host a training session from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, at its office at 119 South Front Street in downtown Cotulla for all those looking to earn a pesticide applicator license.
Admission to the course is $10 per person, paid in cash only. The course is designed to prepare all participants to take the pesticide applicators’ license exam, although it does not include the exam itself.
All those wanting to become licensed pesticide applicators with the Texas Department of Agriculture may attend the training course. A valid applicator license is required by the state agency for anyone who uses or supervises the use of restricted-use or state-limited use of certain pesticides in the production of agricultural commodities.
The course includes information on different forms of application, private, commercial and non-commercial.
All those planning to take part must reserve a seat in advance by contacting Extension Agent Victoria Wilson at (830) 483-5165 or by email, victoria.wilson@ag.tamu.edu.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service provides equal access in its programs, activities, education and employment without regard to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation or gender identity. The agency seeks to provide reasonable accommodation for all persons with disabilities, to enable them to attend the training course. Those needing assistance should contact the Extension Office at least eight days in advance of the course to make necessary arrangements.
