SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN
PARADES, TREE LIGHTING KICK OFF CHRISTMAS SEASON
PEARSALL
The city of Pearsall will host its annual Christmas Celebration on Friday, December 2, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the City Hall grounds at Ash and San Marcos streets downtown.
Mayor Ben Briscoe and city councilors will host the annual tree lighting at 6:45 p.m., followed by a performance by the Pearsall High School Dance Team and music by the Mighty Maverick Band.
Prospective vendors and those interested in participating in the Tamalada may register at City Hall or visit the city’s website, www.cityofpearsall.org.
Residents and businesses participating in the building decorating contest will have until Friday, Dec. 2, to register. Judging of homes and businesses will be Monday, Dec. 5; entries are judged in separate categories.
The city will host the annual Christmas night parade, ‘Merry Grinchmas,’ on Friday, Dec. 9, beginning at 6 p.m.
City staff will distribute gifts to Pearsall children from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Civic Center. The event is open to children from newborn to 12th grade; children must be present to receive a gift.

DILLEY
The city of Dilley will host its annual Christmas Parade and downtown tree lighting ceremony from 6 p.m. onwards, Friday, Dec. 2.
The parade of lighted floats will line up at the Mary Harper Middle School (former high school) parking lot on FM 117 by 5:30 p.m. and process at 6 p.m. to the downtown park and gazebo. Judges will award trophies to the best decorated entries.
The lighting ceremony will be held at the city’s Christmas tree and downtown decorated park and gazebo after the parade. There will be special visits by Santa Claus and the Grinch; children will be able to pose for pictures with the characters.
COTULLA
The city of Cotulla and Main Street Program will host the annual Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, from the Las Palmas business park to Veterans Park downtown. All of this year’s Christmas festivities will be in the ‘Winter Wonderland’ theme. Parade floats and cars will be lighted and decorated in the theme; judges will award prizes to the top three ‘decorated car’ entries.
‘Winter Wonderland’ is also the theme of the city’s downtown business window decorating contest; entries will be judged Friday and winners named at the festivities in the park.
The downtown city tree lighting ceremony after the parade will include a visit from Santa Claus for the children.
