Dilley High School senior Billy Hernandez has earned a seat on the Association of Texas Small School Bands’ All-State Band, which performs in a free concert for the public after over three days of rehearsals in the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio at 9 a.m. Saturday, February 11, during the Texas Music Educators’ Association convention. Hernandez was awarded first chair on tuba in the Area South auditions held in Alice on Saturday, Jan. 7, having advanced from regional auditions last year. Hernandez now ranks among the top two percent of tuba players in Texas.
