NEW TO THE FORCE – The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office has filled three new deputies’ positions by administering oaths to a trio of Laredo natives who are recent graduates of the Law Enforcement Academy at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde. Sheriff Anthony Zertuche presided over the ceremony in the district courtroom Thursday, January 19, and welcomed (Photos above, L-R) Deputies Eric Castillo, Gerardo Mojica, and Alonzo Sanchez to the law enforcement agency. All three new deputies have now begun serving La Salle County in full-time shifts under their respective field training officers. (CURRENT Photos: Amanda Brown Snowden)
