Benavidez, Garcia sit atop the region in their weight classes
Cotulla won its third straight powerlifting meet of the season last week at the Dilley Invitational.
The Cowgirls outpaced the field, tallying 69 points to claim the title while second place Pearsall had 29 points.
Quiana Mendez, Karla Benavidez, Kate Guzman, Kayla Martinez, Raychel Narvaiz and Syrah Garcia all claimed gold medals at the event for taking first in their respective weight classes.
Mendez had a total lift of 710 lbs. in the 123-lb. weight class, Benavidez tallied 960 lbs. at 132 lbs., Guzman recorded a lift of 850 lbs. at 148 lbs., Martinez posted a lift of 745 lbs. at 181 lbs., Narvaiz recorded a total weight of 875 lbs. at 259 lbs. and Garcia tallied a total lift of 1,025 lbs. at super heavyweight.
Alessandra Garcia, Nayeli Flores, Jocelyn Ramirez, Abygale Gonzalez and Emily Velasquez were all second in their weight classes while Emma Regan, Bella Linares, Nathalia Sada were fourth in their divisions.
Remmya Diaz was sixth at 123 lbs. and Reyanna Diaz was ninth at 148 lbs.
The team currently has seven lifters ranked among the top ten regionally in their respective weight classes.
Benavidez and Garcia are both first in the region in their weight classes.
Cotulla will compete in the final regional qualifying meet of the season at Natalia on Wednesday, February 15.
