Oreo Cookie Pie
So I’ve seen a lot of versions of Oreo Pie, but never this one. I’d be very curious to see how this came out. If you try it, do please find a way to let me know! Also, this Texas Celebrity Cookbook is quickly becoming one of my favorites to flip through.

As printed in Texas Celebrity Cookbook, by Russell M. Gardner & Christ Farkas, 1984
Crust:
36 Oreo cookies, crushed
½ cup melted oleo
2 quarts vanilla ice cream
Make crust of Oreo cookies and oleo. Spread in oblong cake pan. Let ice cream soften and spread over crust. Put in freezer for several hours.
Topping:
1-1/3 cups evaporated milk
3 squares unsweetened chocolate
½ cup oleo
1-1/3 cups sugar
3 tsp. vanilla
Melt chocolate over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar and oleo. Gradually add evaporated milk. Blend well, cook again over low heat, stirring frequently, until thick. Add vanilla. Cool. Pour over ice cream and oleo mixture. Sprinkle with chopped pecans. Return to freezer and freeze again.
