The deadline for completed petitions by prospective MEC Co-op members seeking a position on the board of directors is quickly approaching.
Medina Electric Cooperative held member nominating meetings in February and co-op members who wish to run for a position on the Medina EC Board of Directors will need to be nominated by petition and complete the paperwork required for all nominees. The petition process requires a potential nominee to acquire at least 30 valid signatures of Medina EC members in the voting district the nominee wishes to run in.
Completed petitions and all nominee paperwork is due to Medina EC by April 10. Information about the petition process and to download a petition and find all required paperwork is available at MedinaEC.org/Nominee.
As a not-for-profit electric cooperative, Medina EC is run by a nine-person board of directors voted on by the membership. Each one of Medina EC’s three voting districts has a position open for election each year. Elections generally take place in September and results will be announced at Medina EC’s annual meeting later in September.
Additional information regarding the petition process can also be acquired via email at MyCoop@MedinaEC.org or by calling 1-866-632-3532 ext. 1008.
