WARHORSE RELAYS IN DEVINE
Pearsall dominated the Warhorse Relays in Devine with athletes performing in numerous events as the Mavericks captured yet another team track and field title this season.
Pearsall athletes earned six gold medals and had several athletes earn top three finishes in numerous events last Wednesday, March 23.
“We were impressed by how our athletes came out in the meet on Wednesday,” PHS Head Boys’ Track Coach Julian Hernandez said. “The boys and girls put forth a fantastic effort and continue to improve their times and marks.”
The team will be splitting up its athletes this week as most will attend the Ro-Hawk Relays in Randolph on Thursday, March 30 while some will be attending the Texas Relays in Austin.
“We are looking good so far going into this next week,” Hernandez said. “We will be taking a few of our relay teams to the Texas Relays to see where we stand among the best in the state. Overall we are proud of our athletes and how they continue to push themselves in meets and in practice.”
Pearsall won the Devine meet with 165 points. Dilley was third with 92 points while Cotulla finished third with 38 points.
