Frio County deputies raided a home in Pearsall and seized methamphetamine on Thursday, March 30, to cap a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking.
Officers say they began examining alleged methamphetamine distribution operation earlier this year after receiving numerous calls from concerned citizens.
“We take all tips seriously,” Lt. Joshua Longoria said this week. “Our investigative teams immediately went to work.”
A search warrant was issued for the residence on North Pine Street and deputies entered the home around 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Two residents identified as 49-year old Gavino Gutierrez and 39-year-old Martin Cuevas were inside the home at the time of the raid.
Gutierrez was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; Cuevas faces felony charges for the manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance.
Cuevas was detained and transported to the Frio County Jail without further incident.
“Our deputies’ diligence in the investigation made it possible to secure the search warrant we needed to get these drugs off the street,” the county lieutenant said.
