PEARSALL TRACK & FIELD
Pearsall’s track and field squads were shorthanded in action at the Ro-Hawk Invitational Relays at Universal City Randolph on Thursday, March 30 as members of the boys’ and girls’ relay teams were in action at the Texas Relays in Austin the same day.
The event also did not feature field events, an area in which both the Mavs and Lady Mavs excel. Pearsall Boys Head Track Coach Julian Hernandez, however, saw the opportunity as a chance for his athletes to continue to improve as district competition approaches.
“Our other athletes competed at Randolph last week,” Hernandez said. “They did a great job adjusting to the elements and competing against quality competition. They continue to improve and are ready to get to district.”
Compiling relay teams from available athletes, Pearsall was still able to place third in the 800m relay and eighth in the sprint relay.
