The city of Pearsall held its Legislative Days on March 21 and 22 at the State Capitol in Austin.
The delegation was led by Mayor Ben Briscoe and included council members James Leal, Sonia Hernandez, Tiffany Talamantes, Lionel Gandara, Racheal Garza, Ramiro Treviño, City Manager Federico Reyes Jr., Public Works Director Hector Gandara, Chief of Police Daniel Flores and was supported by the city’s Government Relations consulting firm, EMC Strategy Group, LLC, which included Ernie Gonzalez, Fabio Gonzalez, and Mitchell Gonzalez.
The delegation met with State Representative Tracy King (Natural Resources Committee Chairman), State Representative Ryan Guillen (Homeland Security Committee Chairman), State Representative Oscar Longoria (Business & Industry Committee Chairman), State Representative Terry Canales (Transportation Committee Chairman), State Representative Eddie Morales (Vice Chairman of the Energy Committee), and State Senator Roland Gutierrez.
The delegation also met with leaders of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, Texas Department of Agriculture, Texas Department of Transportation, and Texas Workforce Commission.
“We had a successful legislative visit at the State Capitol,” Mayor Briscoe said. “Our delegation had the opportunity to share the city’s state legislative priorities that include economic development, public safety, housing, quality of life, infrastructure, and transportation.
EMC Strategy Group will continue to represent the city throughout the legislative session, which ends on May 30.
