LAW ENFORCEMENT NEWS
The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that Deputy Adrian Ruiz has been promoted to the rank of investigator and will join the team that examines some of the county’s most serious crimes.
Ruiz was hired in 2022 as a deputy for the sheriff’s office, having previously served as the investigator at the Dilley Police Department.
The Uvalde native is a graduate of the law enforcement academy at Southwest Texas Junior College and was president of his graduating class at the academy.
The investigator’s new duties will include examining cases such as those involving murder, assault, abuse, child-related crime, firearms, financial crime, and investigations into organized criminal activity, among others. He will also be dispatched in response to major crime scenes, prepare cases to submit to the district attorney’s office for prosecution, and present evidence to a grand jury.
The sheriff’s office noted in a prepared statement Monday that Sheriff Anthony Zertuche and staff look forward to having Investigator Ruiz as part of the county’s valued team in crime investigation and that he will be regarded as an asset to the community.
