Lois M. Collins Leifeste, 91, died on April 19, 2023, in Cedar Park, Texas. She was born on October 15, 1931, in the community of O’Donnell in Dawson County, Texas as the only daughter of Laura Frances Hickson Collins and Francis Ballard Collins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband James D. Leifeste and four brothers, Leroy, Elmo, Jake, and Lloyd Collins.

Lois is survived by her three children, Laura (Billy) Boatwright of Cotulla, James Kenneth Leifeste of Cedar Park, and Deborah Gohmert of San Antonio, grandchildren Brandi (Douglas) Liere, Amanda (Ryan) Johnson, Brett (Lindsey) Boatwright, Shelly (Mark) Tufts, Shara (Aaron) Peace, Laci (Nathan) Hayes, Jayce Leifeste, Leah (Layton) Herring, and Lindsey (Jake) Keeton, great grandchildren Tyler, Logan, and Mason Liere, Dancie and Dason Johnson, Sadie, Brett Jr., and WyLee Boatwright, Ella and Reid Tufts, Hendrix and Graham Peace, Aiden and Riley Hayes, Kendall and Taylon Herring, Jamesyn Keeton and one on the way. She is also survived by her step-sister Wilma Adams and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 25 at First Baptist Church in Cotulla from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. followed by interment at the Cotulla West Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
