COUNTY ARREST
Twenty-eight individuals were arrested in La Salle County over the past two weeks on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges and on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.
Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.
In addition to those being held on behalf of other jurisdictions and those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, May 29, and Sunday, June 11, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:
Anthony Jerome Hankins, 51, of Corpus Christi; arrested 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for probation violation on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; remained in jail Monday, June 12.
Steven Ramirez Garcia, 45, of Matagorda County, Texas; arrested 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in Freeport, Texas, for violation of sex offender registry; transferred after seven hours.
Cynthia Elizabeth Mata, 33, of Rio Bravo, Texas; arrested 11:01 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; remained in jail Monday, June 12.
Austin Gerard Mendoza, 18, of San Antonio; arrested 1:27 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, by the Texas DPS; second-degree felony smuggling of persons for pecuniary benefit (six counts); released on bond after 18 hours.
Brenda Nichole Hinkle, 30, of Encinal; arrested 2:11 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, by the Encinal PD; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace for misdemeanor driving without a license and misdemeanor failure to appear in court; released on bond after four hours.
Lysandra Daniella Vasquez, 25, of Laredo; arrested 9:08 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2; released on bond after 13 hours.
Dionicio Aguilar Jr., 66, of Cotulla; arrested 2:48 p.m. Thursday, June 1, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle County for issuance of a bad check (ten counts) and failure to appear in court; released on bond after six hours.
Jose Adolfo Crispin, 22, of Laredo; arrested 5:33 p.m. Thursday, June 1, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts), warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 JP for driving without a license, warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for violating a promise to appear in court; released on bond after 19 hours.
Arturo Granados Rios, 41, of Lovelady, Texas; arrested 7:23 p.m. Thursday, June 1, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after 19 hours.
Andres Luna Jr., 55, of Cotulla; arrested 10:50 p.m. Thursday, June 1, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Monday, June 12.
Baron Luna, 38, of Harlingen, Texas; arrested 1:20 a.m. Friday, June 2, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 JP for driving without a license, driving with expired registration, and failure to appear in court; released on bond after eight hours.
Javier Marquez, 29, of Dallas; arrested 11:12 a.m. Friday, June 2, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony smuggling of persons for pecuniary benefit (five counts); released on bond after one day, 13 hours.
Alfredo Marquez, 21, of Terrell, Texas; arrested 11:12 a.m. Friday, June 2, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony smuggling of persons for pecuniary benefit; released on bond after one day, 13 hours.
Rene Garcia, 59, of Sugarland, Texas; arrested 11:14 a.m. Sunday, June 4, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in McMullen County for driving while license is not valid, with a prior conviction; released on bond after nine hours.
Pete Gabriel Garcia Jr., 32, of Pearsall; arrested 5:34 p.m. Monday, June 5, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Bexar County for failure to appear in court on a charge of criminal trespass; released on bond after 18 hours.
Ricardo Gutierrez, 20, of Laredo; arrested 3:29 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor violation of a bond or protective order; released on bond after ten hours.
Gloria Genese Rodriguez, 42, of Cotulla; arrested 4:38 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 2 JP for failure to maintain financial responsibility and driving without a license, warrant issued in La Salle District Court for third-degree felony assault on a pregnant person; released on bond after seven hours.
Jose Angel Thomas Lopez, 20, of Encinal; arrested 12:46 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after two hours.
Margie Angela Ibarra, 44, of San Antonio; arrested 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury, warrants issued in Zavala County for unlawful transport of persons for pecuniary benefit (five counts) and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; released on bond after five days, 13 hours.
Virginia Leal, 41, of San Antonio; arrested 8:19 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury; released on bond after three days, 17 hours.
Mardoqueo Ramon Valdez-Perez, 33, of San Marcos, Guatemala; arrested 4:13 a.m. Thursday, June 8, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Osceola County for failure to appear in court on a charge of domestic battery by strangulation; remained in jail Monday, June 12.
Ricardo Castor Jr., 38, of Cotulla; arrested 11:06 p.m. Thursday, June 8, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after 11 hours.
Corina Arce, 33, of Cotulla; arrested 11:51 a.m. Friday, June 9, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; released on bond after nine hours.
Julie Lynn Sanchez, 35, of Cotulla; arrested 3:40 a.m. Saturday, June 10, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass; released on bond after nine hours.
Christopher Neal Ruiz Jr., 21, of Cotulla; arrested 10:53 a.m. Sunday, June 11, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass, Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; released on bond after one day, seven hours.
Ricky Montes, 29, of Cotulla; arrested 12:12 p.m. Sunday, June 11, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 JP for failure to appear in court (two counts), failure to maintain financial responsibility, running a stop sign, warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for failure to appear in court (two counts); released on bond after three hours.
Carlos Armando Gutierrez Jr., 28, of San Antonio; arrested 2:48 p.m. Sunday, June 11, by the Texas DPS; Class A misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 3, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor driving while license is not valid, with a prior conviction; released on bond after one day.
Abigail Leneih Espinoza, 21, of Cotulla; arrested 11:55 p.m. Sunday, June 11, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 3 JP for misdemeanor possession of alcohol as a minor, misdemeanor possession of tobacco as a minor, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor failure to appear in court, warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for violating a promise to appear in court, warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of marijuana possession; released on bond after 17 hours.
