Mark Mattingly, 66, died on May 20, 2023. He was born on June 25, 1956 to Beverly Lewis (Bud) and Eva Jean Mattingly.

He is preceded in death by his father Bud Mattingly.

Mark is survived by his wife Holly Mattingly, daughters Storhm (Billy) Remillard and Shade Golden, grandchildren Justin Remillard, Kylee Golden and Kollins Golden, mother Eva Jean Mattingly, siblings Edmond (Raellen) Mattingly and Isaac Mattingly, half siblings Jay Quarles, Stacey (Lisa) Quarles, Michael (Kelly) Quarles, Carolee Quarles and Elizabeth (Rick) Hilton along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is also survived by close friends Mike Ezer, Kelly Shull, Charlie McClain, Scot Kelso, Chris Surles, and James Mahan.

Mark graduated from Dilley High School in 1975 and went on to play football in college for the University of Houston and Southwest Texas State University.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cracking jokes any chance he had. Mark retired from a long-time career with Beynon Surfaces in 2012, a career that took him across the continental US where he gained many friendships with individuals from all over the country.

Mark was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dilley where his father Bud Mattingly had been the minister for over 20 years.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 10 at 10 a.m. at Gosch Field in Dilley.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
