LAW ENFORCEMENT NEWS

The La Salle County Sheriff’s Office has promoted Oscar Macias from the rank of corporal to sergeant this month and welcomed him to his new role last week. Sgt. Macias is a Laredo native who earned his peace officer certification shortly before joining the sheriff’s office as a patrol deputy in February 2020. In his new capacity, the sergeant will supervise other patrol officers while continuing his own patrol duties for the sheriff’s office.                                                               (Courtesy photo)
