25 jailed in La Salle, June 12 – 25

Twenty-five individuals were arrested in La Salle County over the past two weeks on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges and on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.

Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office and troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol.

In addition to those being held on behalf of other jurisdictions and those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, June 12, and Sunday, June 25, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:

Christian Garcia, 28, of Mission, Texas; arrested 6:47 p.m. Thursday, June 15, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, warrant issued by Austin Parole Board for parole violation; remained in jail Monday, June 26.

Randy Ramirez, 44, of Edinburg, Texas; arrested 7:13 p.m. Thursday, June 15, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for violating a promise to appear in court, warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of criminal trespass; released on bond after 15 hours.

Arturo Luis Munoz II, 23, of Zapata, Texas; arrested 2:49 a.m. Friday, June 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated; released on bond after seven hours.

Naythan Izaiah Sanchez, 19, of San Antonio; arrested 8:25 p.m. Friday, June 16, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2; released on bond after 14 hours.

Raul Moreno Jr., 35, of Laredo; arrested 11:50 p.m. Friday, June 16, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in Webb County for probation violation; released on bond after 11 hours.

Ricardo Clemente-Morales, 41, of Washington, Texas; arrested 11:50 p.m. Friday, June 16, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after 11 hours.

Sammy Valenzuela, 43, of Cotulla; arrested 1:21 a.m. Saturday, June 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury to a family member; released on bond after ten hours.

Mark Anthony Santos, 25, of Cotulla; arrested 12:15 p.m. Saturday, June 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Bexar County on a motion to revoke probation; transferred after five days, 22 hours.

Ezekiah Ezekiel Garza, 21, of San Antonio; arrested 12:15 p.m. Saturday, June 17, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in Bexar County for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while intoxicated and felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon; transferred after five days, 22 hours.

David Michael Gonzalez Jr., 34, of Cotulla; arrested 6:59 a.m. Sunday, June 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass; released on bond after six hours.

Tiffany Ariana Ayala, 32, of Cotulla; arrested 8:49 p.m. Sunday, June 18, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor criminal trespass; released on bond after 21 hours.

Noe Gutierrez, 46, of Cotulla; arrested 12:49 a.m. Monday, June 19, by the Sheriff’s Office; second-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1; remained in jail Monday, June 26.

Maritza Velma Gonzalez, 33, of Cotulla; arrested 7:46 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after two hours.

Thomas Edgar Powell-Mitchell, 40, of Cotulla; arrested 8:38 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for violating a promise to appear in court on a charge of driving with an expired vehicle registration, and failure to appear in court (two counts); released on bond after eight hours.

Virginia Briana Delgado, 32, of Cotulla; arrested 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after 12 hours.

Christian Oliver Alaniz, 50, of Cotulla; arrested 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b, warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for misdemeanor speeding, misdemeanor driving without a license, misdemeanor seatbelt violation and violating a promise to appear in court, warrant issued in Frio County for failure to appear in court on a charge of third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1, warrant issued in Medina County for felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Monday, June 26.

Stevan Price Saunders, 41, of Cotulla; arrested 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; released on bond after 19 hours.

Nayeli Cervera, 21, of Cotulla; arrested 11:16 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for Class A misdemeanor assault causing bodily injury; released on bond after ten hours.

Nora Gonzales Hernandez, 53, of Cotulla; arrested 11:19 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 JP for failure to appear in court and driving without a license; released on bond after 12 hours.

Elizabeth Sanchez, 45, of Laredo; arrested 4:12 p.m. Friday, June 23, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court (four counts), warrant issued by La Salle County Pct. 2 JP for driving without a license; remained in jail Monday, June 26.

Juan Alberto Ortiz, 26, of Dallas; arrested 1:40 a.m. Saturday, June 24, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts); remained in jail Monday, June 26.

Sergio Luis Melgoza-Ortiz, 27, of Balch Springs, Texas; arrested 1:30 a.m. Saturday, June 24, by the Texas DPS; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (three counts), third-degree felony evading arrest with a vehicle, Class B misdemeanor driving while license is not valid (with a prior conviction); remained in jail Monday, June 26.

Jaiden Faustino Chapa, 22, of Beeville, Texas; arrested 3:40 a.m. Saturday, June 24, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor reckless driving; released on bond after 14 hours.

Carl Dexter Martin, 35, of New Orleans, Louisiana; arrested 4 a.m. Saturday, June 24, by the Texas DPS; warrant issued in New Orleans for assault; released after one day, 16 hours.

Daniel Rene Mota, 34, of Corpus Christi, Texas; arrested 11:52 p.m. Saturday, June 24, by the Texas DPS; state jail felony driving while intoxicated with a child under age 15 (two counts); remained in jail Monday, June 26.
