The communities of Pearsall, Dilley and Cotulla will mark the American Independence Day holiday on three separate days with free festivals at their city parks.
PEARSALL will celebrate on Monday, July 3, with an evening event that features a family fun night at the Pearsall Public Pool from 8 p.m. until midnight with food, disc jockey entertainment and a fireworks show.
DILLEY will celebrate on Saturday, July 1, with an evening event that features live entertainment, foods and refreshments at City Park & Pavilion on the east side of town.
Performances at the Dilley event will include Joe Vic Reyna y Los Kumbacheros from 7:45 to 9 p.m.; Ricardo Castillon from 9:30 to 11 p.m.; and headliners Los Desperadoz from 11:20 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Dilley’s city-sponsored fireworks show will take place between 9 and 9:25 p.m.
COTULLA will celebrate with its annual parade through downtown from Las Palmas to Veterans Park at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, after which the Independence Day festival kicks off at the downtown park with live bands, dozens of vendor booths, foods and refreshments.
Bands performing for at least an hour each at the Cotulla event begin with Selestial Alcoser at 6:30 p.m. and continue with Matt Castillo and headliner Ramon Ayala on stage until midnight.
The annual Cotulla fireworks show will launch between 9 and 9:30 p.m.
Vendors at Veterans Park will offer a variety of goods ranging from clothing to jewelry, arts and crafts, and hamdmade items. Food and drink will also be on sale.
Festival attendees are being reminded not to bring glassware or glass bottles to the park.
