Elodia Hernandez Cordova, 68, of Pearsall, died on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in San Antonio.
She was born on April 13, 1955 in Hidalgo, Coahuila, Mexico to Genoveva and Julian Hernandez.
She is preceded in death by her mother Genoveva Vela Hernandez and three brothers, Eliseo Hernandez, Raul Hernandez and Eloy Hernandez.
Elodia is survived by her husband Marcial Cordova Jr. of Pearsall, sons John Cordova, Marcial Cordova III and wife Jesusa of Pearsall and Joe Cordova and Noemi of Uvalde, daughter Marissa Cordova of Pearsall, father Julian S. Hernandez, brothers Homer Hernandez and wife Thelma and Julian Hernandez and wife Marina Hernandez and sister Elsa Hernandez, all of Pearsall, grandchildren John Matthew Cordova, Juan Diego Cordova, Sophia Cordova, Hailey Trevino, Leland Zertuche, Bryce Cordova, Aileen Velasquez, Lilianna R. Cordova, and Joe Isaac Cordova and numerous nieces and nephews.
Elodia worked for Pearsall Independent School District for 21 years as a secondary teacher. She also worked for Charlotte ISD and Dilley ISD before retiring in 2011.
Visitation was held on Thursday, June 29 from 5 to 9 p.m. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Services in Pearsall. Funeral mass was celebrated on Friday, June 30 at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Pearsall. Interment followed at the Pearsall Catholic Cemetery East.
