Legendary Norteno performer Ramon Ayala was the headlining act at the annual Independence Day festival held at Veterans Park in downtown Cotulla on Tuesday evening, July 4, rounding out a day of parade, live music, DJ entertainment, food, refreshments and games to mark America’s birthday. The 77-year-old Monterrey native and four-time Grammy winner wowed his audience with his repertoire covering hits from six decades. Also performing at the festival were Matt Castillo and Selestial Alcoser. The event was hosted by the city of Cotulla and the Main Street Program.
