OPENING SOON – The new Love’s travel center, which includes an Arby’s restaurant, is being built on the southern outskirts of Cotulla in a development area targeted by the city for economic growth and part of an annexation project that stretched the city’s boundary across the Nueces River for the first time. Positioned beside IH-35 exit and access ramps, the 24-hour travel center is expected to offer as many as 68 jobs paying at least $15 an hour and becomes the sixth fullsize business of its kind built in Cotulla since 1990 to cater to ever-increasing highway traffic. City Hall reports that sales tax revenues to the municipal general fund have been boosted by the new trade as well as by added employment in the energy industry, construction, and law enforcement mobilized to the border region during the state’s Operation Lone Star.
