Garcia is survived by his children Abel Garcia Jr. (Christy Martinez), Veronica Garcia (Luis Esparza), Javier (Lupita) Garcia, LeAna Maldonado, Alicia Pedroza, Anali Marquez and Andrew Garcia, mother, siblings Uvaldo Garcia, Mario Garcia, Yolanda Cabrera, Antonio Garcia, Rosa Elia Garcia, Nora Garcia and Noe Garcia, grandchildren Karissa Nicole Garcia, Derryn Mykal Ramirez, Abel Garcia III, Sebastian Garcia, Javier Garcia Jr., Aiden Garcia, Gabriel Garcia, Jasmine Garcia, Aralynn Valles, Kaydee Pedroza, Andrea Valles, Isabel Garcia, Toby Garcia, Aleah Valles, Aaliyah Garcia, Brianna Pedroza, Desaray Garcia, Alma Lizette Bárcenas, Bryan Chavera, Natalie Chavera, Leiza Chavera and Harley Esparza. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation was held on Thursday, August 31 at Peters Funeral Home from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 31 at 12:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed at the Cristo Rey Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Peters Funeral Home, Cotulla.
