POPULAR EVENT SUPPORTS LOCAL VICTIMS
One of La Salle County’s largest annual community rallies for cancer awareness and support will kick off Saturday, September 30, at Veterans Park in downtown Cotulla with a family-friendly variety of activities to help raise funds to assist local victims.
The All Colors Cancer Walk is aimed at drawing attention to all forms of cancer, highlights those who have battled the disease and those who care for the victims, their families and friends, and raises money to assist where insurance and other support systems are lacking.
The event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. includes booths, memorials and testimonials, music and raffles, and the walk by scores of participants along Cotulla’s residential streets.
Participants include individuals, teams, student groups, families, business and organization groups, community leaders, law enforcement and first responders. All attendees are invited to wear bright colors and matching team shirts as well as memorials to their loved ones.
Registration for the walk is $20; proceeds go towards assisting local cancer patients and their families. To register, call Anna Marroquin at (847) 454-6473.
