LAW ENFORCEMENT NEWS
La Salle County Sheriff Anthony Zertuche administered the oath of office to one of his newest deputies late last month, welcoming Spencer Dominguez back to the agency.
Dominguez is a Hondo native and graduated from the law enforcement academy at Southwest Texas Junior College in Uvalde in 2011. He served eight years as a deputy for the Medina County Sheriff’s Office and a year as a patrolman for the Dilley Police Department, and he has worked for a year at the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office in the past.
Dominguez’ specialty in law enforcement has been in handling specially trained dogs in patrol and in drug detection. His prior experience as a K-9 officer prompted Sheriff Zertuche to assign him K-9 duties in La Salle County. His trained dog is used in drug traffic interception and on routine patrols.
Deputy Dominguez has begun serving La Salle County on patrol and looks forward to familiarizing himself with the community.
