Pearsall police have launched an investigation into a drive-by shooting that left a man injured on Friday evening, September 8.
According to records at the Frio County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to West Comal Street near IH-35 after a number of 911 calls regarding an apparent shooting in progress.
County deputies arrived to find that Pearsall police had detained two men in connection with the incident. Names of possible suspects and of the injured man have not been released pending the outcome of an investigation.
Deputies assisted police with a search of the crime scene that stretched across the busy thoroughfare and discovered a number of spent shell casings in front of a barbecue restaurant.
Witnesses reported to officers that they had seen a white Chevrolet pickup truck driving from the scene. A deputy noted in his report on witness statements that another vehicle was seen traveling west on Comal Street and onto the IH-35 northbound lanes.
The police department has yet to respond to media requests for records related to the incident.
