Ruben G. Trevino, 83, of Rosenberg, Texas, died at his home surrounded by his family on September 10, 2023. He was born on August 30, 1940 in Pearsall to Marcela and Raul M. Trevino.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Blanca Ramirez and a brother, Rene Trevino.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Maria Lina Trevino, daughters Jo Ann James and husband John, Jeannie Martinez and husband AJ, and Mary Ann Pardo and husband Sammy, siblings Raul Trevino, Jr., Rolando Trevino, Hector Trevino, Oralia Sanchez and Rosario Alaniz, grandchildren John Rodriguez and wife Alicia, Emilie Rodriguez, Mark Rodriguez, Jacob Martinez, Joshua Martinez and Matthew Pardo and great-grandson Grant Rodriguez. Ruben was awaiting the arrival of his seventh grandchild, Baby Girl Pardo, due in March 2024.
Ruben enjoyed spending time with family, cheering for his favorite sports teams, watching Western movies and sharing stories of his life. In younger years, Ruben was referred to as “El Seno”, but most recently some of his favorite names to be called were Grandpo, Grampy or Popo.
Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 15 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., September 16 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg followed by burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
