WRECKAGE FOUND BEFORE DAWN
A Dilley man was pronounced dead Monday morning, September 25, after he crashed his car into a tree on CR 3410 in Derby.
A report on the case indicates an off-duty Dilley police officer was traveling home along Spur 581 at 6 a.m. when he noticed a 2009 Honda Accord that had collided with a tree.
Investigators have indicated 39-year-old Ronnie Lee Perez may have been traveling towards Dilley early Monday and lost control of the vehicle, failing to negotiate a curve in the road, veering off the pavement and striking the tree head-on. Dilley Volunteer Fire Department and emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and determined the wreck had occurred between 3 and 5 a.m.
