Pearsall fell to 0-4 in district volleyball play last week following losses to Carrizo Springs and Pleasanton in 29-4A action.
Pearsall dropped a three-set decision to Floresville in their league opener on September 12, falling 25-6, 25-9, 25-9 and were then swept by Uvalde in three, 25-17, 25-11, 25-14.
“The girls have been struggling with resetting after an error is made,” PHS Head Coach Erika Tellez said of her young squad. “They have improved their communication on the court and encouraging each other.”
The team then took on Carrizo Springs, losing a hard-fought 25-18, 25-19, 25-15 match to the Lady Wildcats.
At home Friday night against Pleasanton, Pearsall once again put up a fight before falling, again, in three sets, 25-11, 25-14, 25-18.
The Lady Mavs were at Devine Tuesday evening, September 26 and will host Somerset Friday at 5 p.m. to close out the first round of district play. The team has an open date on Tuesday, October 3 and will be at Floresville on Friday, October 6 to begin the second round of league play.
