NATIONAL NIGHT OUT, OCT. 3

Communities in Frio and La Salle counties will mark National Night Out with street parties on Tuesday evening, October 3, with celebrations involving law enforcement and emergency responders.
Pearsal’s event hosted by the Volunteer Fire Department will be held at Fireman’s Park from 6 to 9 p.m. and includes Pearsall JROTC with colors, free food and drinks, entertainment by DJ El Jefe, and meet-and-greet with police, firefighters, state troopers, paramedics, and Sparky the Fire Dog.
Dilley hosts its event 5 to 10 p.m. at the Pavilion on Houston Street with food, games and door prizes; entertainers Nathan Jackson and DJ Yapi, Jaime de Anda Especial and Barrio Escondido; and Ballet Folklorico de Guerrero. Vendors are welcome; call (830) 965-2113 for information.
Cotulla’s event hosted by the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office will be 6 to 9 p.m. at Veterans Park, with DJ entertainment, food and refreshments, prizes, a cornhole tournament, cake walk, ‘pie in the face’ and dunking booth.
