CHS hosts ‘Pink Out’ walk at stadium Thursday
Students’ fundraiser for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Area residents will join elected officials, community leaders, service providers, emergency responders, and Cotulla High School students at Myers Memorial Stadium on Thursday morning, October 5, for the annual ‘Pink Out’ 5K walk for breast cancer awareness.
The event is hosted by the Cotulla High School student members of the Los Jefes Chapter of the National Honor Society and serves as one of the organization’s largest charity fundraisers of the year. Admission to the event is $5.
Participants will gather at the stadium at 7:45 a.m. Thursday for a rally and welcome before setting off around the track at 8 a.m. for one hour. All those involved will wear pink in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Pink shirts, leggings, novelty costumes and other pink clothing is encouraged.
Special recognition will be made for breast cancer fighters and survivors, and memorials to breast cancer victims will also be made.
A CHS pep rally begins at 9 a.m.
All public parking will be at the softball and baseball field parking lot behind the CHS campus, near the band hall and agriculture buildings.
For information on taking part, making a donation, or to participate as a guest of honor, contact Marlene Costley Maldonado or Kathy Galindo-Garcia at Cotulla High School, (830) 879-2374.
