Tried setting fire to house during domestic dispute

Jesus Prado
A former Dilley resident remains behind bars in the Bexar County Jail this week after he allegedly shot and wounded two San Antonio officers during a domestic dispute on Thursday, October 19.
San Antonio police say they were dispatched to a home on the northeast side of the city after a domestic disturbance broke out between 40-year-old Jesus Prado and his wife.
Prado reportedly began to douse the home with gasoline and threatened to set it on fire with a torch he was holding, police say.
Responding officers requested assistance and it was during this time that Prado made his way to the second floor of the home and began firing at officers, the report indicates.
The two officers were struck by gunfire during the exchange between Prado and law enforcement, and both were listed as having sustained serious injuries.
Prado subsequently surrendered to officers.
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said in a press conference after the incident that seven-year veteran Officer Santiago Vizcarra and one-year Officer Nicolas Swain were the two officers shot by Prado. One of the injured officers was discharged from an area hospital Monday, Oct. 23.
Records filed at the Bexar County Jail show Prado is being held on two counts of attempted capital murder of a police officer and one count of deadly conduct with a firearm; his bonds total $3 million.
