2023 MAVERICK CLASSIC TOURNAMENT
Pearsall will play host to the annual Maverick Classic Basketball Tournament November 16-18 at the high school and junior high gymnasiums.
Ten teams in each of the boys’ and girls’ divisions will be contending for the tournament title at the event.
San Antonio West Campus, Floresville, San Antonio Kennedy, Crystal City, Cotulla, SA Edison, SA Burbank, Boerne, Somerset Academy and Pearsall will compete in pool play in boys’ field.
West Campus, D’Hanis, Dilley, Crystal City, Comfort, Eagle Pass, Somerset Academy, Charlotte, Holy Cross and Pearsall will participate in the girls’ field.
Each team will play four games on Thursday and Friday in Pool Play before entering bracket play according to seeding, on Saturday.
Pearsall’s Mavs will hit the court at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 16 to take on Edison and then at 7 p.m. for a contest with Cotulla.
The Lady Mavs will take on D’Hanis at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday and then take on West Campus that evening at 5:30 p.m.
Dilley takes on D’Hanis at 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning before tipping off against Crystal City at 2:30 p.m.
Cotulla’s Cowboys will face off with West Campus at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and then face Pearsall in the 7 p.m. outing.
In action on Friday, the Mavs will take on a tough Boerne squad at 2:30 p.m. before squaring off with West Campus at 5:30 p.m.
The Lady Mavs will tip off against Dilley at 10 a.m. on Friday and then face Crystal City in the 7 p.m. contest.
Dilley’s Lady Wolves will have back-to-back outings Friday morning as the team takes on West Campus at 8:30 a.m. and Pearsall at 10 a.m.
Cotulla is slated to meet Boerne at 11:30 a.m. and Edison at 4 p.m.
Bracket play on Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. with games also at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.
