County Arrests

Twenty-two individuals were arrested in La Salle County over a two-week period during the Christmas and New Year holiday on a range of felony and misdemeanor charges as well as on warrants issued locally and in other jurisdictions.

Arrests were made by deputies of the La Salle County Sheriff’s Office, troopers of the Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol, and officers of the Encinal Police Department.

In addition to those serving commitment by order of the courts (details previously published), those taken into custody between Monday, December 25, and Sunday, January 7, with arrest times logged at booking in the La Salle County Jail, were as follows:

Rodolfo Ismael Garcia, 37, of Chicago, Illinois; arrested 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; released on bond after nine days, seven hours.

Zarahi Itzel Macias, 20, of San Antonio; arrested 10:53 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after six hours.

Rodolfo Eliseo Gonzales, 49, of Laredo; arrested 9:09 a.m. Friday, Dec. 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle District Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle; remained in jail Monday, Jan. 8.

Geronimo Torres Jr., 47, of Dilley; arrested 1:52 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by La Salle County Pct. 1 Justice of the Peace for second-degree felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and third-degree felony assault on a family or household member by impeding breath or circulation, warrant issued by Austin Parole Board for parole violation; remained in jail Monday, Jan. 8.

Nathalie Guadalupe Contreras, 35, of Laredo; arrested 3:55 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, by the Encinal PD; warrant issued by Pct. 1 JP for violating a promise to appear in court; released on bond after 22 hours.

Marissa Lopez, 34, of Encinal; arrested 5:04 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, by the Encinal PD; warrant issued in La Salle County for driving without a license (two counts), warrants issued by Pct. 3 JP for failure to appear in court and driving without a license, warrants issued by Pct. 1 JP for driving without a license (two counts), driving without a commercial license, failure to appear in court (two counts) and violating a promise to appear in court; released on bond after 20 hours.

Julian Mojica Jr., 44, of Cotulla; arrested 8:55 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class C misdemeanor theft under $100, state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 1/1b; remained in jail Monday, Jan. 8.

Dandre Jerhmane Lira, 20, of San Antonio; arrested 11:44 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2; released on bond after 16 hours.

Leonardo Grimaldo, 21, of Carrizo Springs, Texas; arrested 2:04 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; third-degree felony smuggling of persons (six counts); released on bond after 14 hours.

Lee Gonzales, 42, of Dilley; arrested 11:24 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in Frio County for failure to appear in court on a charge of criminal mischief with up to $750 in damages; released on bond after four hours.

Rolando Garcia, 35, of Austin; arrested 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, by the Encinal PD; warrants issued by Pct. 3 JP for driving without a license and failure to appear in court; released on bond after 18 hours.

Jose Isaac Medellin, 35, of Converse, Texas; arrested 2:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor possession of marijuana; released on bond after eight hours.

Gloria Genese Rodriguez, 43, of Cotulla; arrested 7:21 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 31, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrants issued by Pct. 2 JP for driving without a license and failure to maintain financial responsibility; released on bond after four hours.

Demetrio Reyes, 55, of Austin; arrested 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County for failure to appear in court on a charge of violating a protective order, warrant issued by Pct. 1 JP for failure to appear in court; released on bond after two days, 12 hours.

Annette Lara Castor, 36, of Cotulla; arrested 2:58 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by Pct. 1 JP for failure to maintain financial responsibility; released on bond after four hours.

Gary Alan Cooper, 55, of Fayetteville, North Carolina; arrested 7:04 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, by the Texas DPS; Class B misdemeanor driving while intoxicated; released on bond after 12 hours.

Julio Cesar Tovar, 44, of Schertz, Texas; arrested 12:01 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, by the Encinal PD; warrants issued by Pct. 3 JP for driving with tire belt material exposed and failure to appear in court; released on bond after one day, three hours.

Antonio Salazar III, 32, of Laredo; arrested 5:57 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; state jail felony unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, third-degree felony evading arrest with a motor vehicle; remained in jail Monday, Jan. 8.

Hugo Zamudio, 56, of Cotulla; arrested 7:44 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued by Pct. 1 JP for Class B misdemeanor criminal mischief; released on bond after nine hours.

Ruben Ernesto Diaz, 33, of Cotulla; arrested 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, by the Sheriff’s Office; warrant issued in La Salle County Court for failure to appear in court on a charge of driving while intoxicated; released on bond after 12 hours.

John Henry Perez, 55, of Encinal; arrested 2:38 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, by the Encinal PD; warrant issued in Frio County for possession of a controlled substance in Penalty Group 2A; released on bond after three hours.

Dylan Thomas Martinez, 18, of Cotulla; arrested 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7, by the Sheriff’s Office; Class B misdemeanor reckless driving; released on bond after two hours.
