FIRST OF THE YEAR

Ezekiel Mario Jose Rodriguez has claimed the title of the first baby born in 2024 in Frio County. Parents Michelle Valle and Luz Rodriguez welcomed their son on Tuesday, January 2, at 8:45 a.m.; Ezekiel weighed 9 lbs. 15 oz. and measured 23 inches in length and was delivered by Dr. Earl Marshall. Frio Regional Hospital staff Cassandra DuBose, Louisa Martinez, Jeanette Gonzales, Carlos Mendez, Elizabeth Segura, Anita Bertrano, Ana Medellin, FRH CEO John Hughson, Dr. Marshall, and Melissa Churchill, along with HEB representatives Yolanda Rodriguez and Joey Almaguer and Frio County Judge Rochelle Camacho presented the family with gifts donated by HEB, Frio Dollar Store, Fire House Nutrition, RJC Hauling, Judge Camacho and the hospital to celebrate being the first baby of the new year in the county. Ezekiel was welcomed home by his big sister, Serenity.
