Trigger fingers

Wild West shoot-out re-enactment performers were at the heart of the rowdy entertainment at the annual Frio Pioneer Day, held Saturday, March 23, on the grounds of the Jail Museum and adjoining Firemens Park in Pearsall. The family-oriented event included food shows and cooking contests, chuck wagon demonstrations, trick roping, exhibitors in traditional frontier-style clothing, animals, games and activities for children, and live music by the Cactus Country Band. Hosted by the county’s historical association, the event is now in its 25th year.
