Challenge accepted

Ted Flores Elementary School and Pearsall Intermediate students competed in the HEB School Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge March 11 to April 11. The events pits schools in a friendly competition within each grade level to collect the most plastic bags in each class. In celebration of Earth Day efforts, HEB provided both schools with a $150 gift card for their participation. A total of 33,472 bags were collected with TFE bringing in 11,585 bags. The top TFE team was Mrs. Esqueda’s class who brought it 5,099 bags. The Intermediate students collected 21,887 bags and their top class was Ms. Mendez’ team, collecting 4,215 bags.
