The cities of Pearsall and Dilley will start the Christmas holiday season with parades, tree lightings, and a festival.
Both cities will host their annual Christmas celebrations on Friday, December 6, each running through the main street in their respective communities.
Pearsall celebrates its tenth annual Night of Lights with “A Magical Christmas” themed parade, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree at City Hall.
Following the tree lighting, attendees are invited to enjoy arts and crafts and food vendors, live performances, and entertainment from a disc jockey.
There is no fee to enter a float in the parade; a $10 vendor entry fee will apply for booths requiring electricity.
The parade starts at 6 p.m. at the Pearsall High School parking lot, runs along Oak Street through the heart of downtown and ends at the City Hall Annex on Ash Street.
Event organizers will soon release information on the Tamalada contest.
