Several complaints lodged against commercial truck drivers reaching excessive speeds along Urban Road have led Frio County commissioners to regulate the speed limit.
Pct. 4 Commissioner Danny Cano said residents who live along the farm-to-market road outside Dilley have voiced concerns regarding drivers of commercial vehicles traveling at high rates of speed.
“I have not talked to anyone who does not want speed limit signs along the road,” Cano told the court during a meeting on Tuesday, November 26.
There has been no posted speed limit signage on the county road between Chiodo Road and Hwy 85 before commissioners made their decision on the restriction.
The speed limit will now be 30 mph.
According to the Texas Transportation Commission, a county commissioners’ court can set a speed limit on farm-to-market roads.
