CASA OF SOUTH TEXAS is extending its thanks this month to Doris Schorch (Photo above, left), a member of the board of directors at Valley Telephone Cooperative, who presented the Court Appointed Special Advocates with a check for $1,000 on behalf of VTX to further the advocacy group’s mission to speak up in court for the best interests of abused and neglected children who have been removed from their homes in Frio, La Salle, Atascosa, Karnes and Wilson counties and are transitioning to foster and adoptive care. The organization also finished distributing Christmas gifts during the holiday period (Right photo) after students at Pearsall Junior High and High School ROTC collected donations. Sheriff’s deputies helped deliver the toys to needy children in the community.
